Burglar who targeted accommodation for elderly and disabled people jailed

A burglar, who repeatedly targeted housing accommodation to steal cash and personal belongings in Solihull, has been jailed for four years after West Midlands Police officers identified her from CCTV.

Shannon Wright carried out the week-long crime wave at Sir Josiah Mason Trust – which caters for elderly and disabled people who need assisted living – in Hillborough Road, Olton, in September.

The 22-year-old even took a potted plant which was discovered outside her home in Anson Grove, Acocks Green, when officers went to arrest her.

Wright pleaded guilty to four counts of burglary and a theft and was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday (23 October).
