Celebration of iconic Land Rovers to take place in Solihull this summer

Solihull’s first ever festival of iconic Land Rovers will take place this summer, with the world-famous Lode Lane plant opening its doors to the public.

‘Land Rover Fest’ will be taking place across the town centre from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th June – featuring rare vintage models, an enthusiasts’ area for 4×4 fans, street food stalls, driving experiences, outdoor cinema and family entertainment.

The festival is being held to celebrate Land Rover’s 70th anniversary, and mark the central role the Solihull plant has played in building millions of the multi-award winning cars over the last 7 decades.

Lode Lane site will be open during the festival, giving visitors an insight into how the famous cars are designed and produced using state-of-the-art aluminium technology in world-class manufacturing facilities.

LR Fest will celebrate all that is great about one of the world’s most iconic motoring brands, from the Series 1 Land Rover to the iconic flagship Range Rover. The festival will see one of the most complete collections of Land Rover models on display.

Nigel Blenkinsop, Operations Director Jaguar Land Rover Solihull said: “We are thrilled to bring this special celebration to our employees, their families, the people of Solihull and beyond. We see this as a thank you to our community for helping us reach such a fantastic milestone, and a look ahead to the next 70 years.

“Expect some surprises, driving experiences, and ‘never seen befores’ as we plan to take over Solihull with a line-up of some of the most beautiful and rarest Land Rovers from the last 70 years.

“Solihull is synonymous with Land Rover where the ground-breaking vehicles have been built at the plant since the late 1940s, helping to place the company on the global automotive manufacturing map.”
