Chelmsley Wood man charged with murder after father-of-four fatally stabbed

Danny Cooper, from Chelmsley Wood, has been charged with the murder of a man who was fatally stabbed on Raven Crescent in Ashmore Park, Wolverhampton during the early hours of Friday 12th October.

Cooper, aged 31 of Maytree Close, was arrested on Sunday 21st October.

He appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court this morning charged with the murder of Richard Helm (pictured). He was remanded to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday (26th October).

He was also charged with two counts of assault, two counts of criminal damage and arson.

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from the homicide team, said: “This is such a tragic waste of a life. Our thoughts remain with Richard’s family who have been kept fully updated by this development.”
