Final Land Rover Defender to roll off production line in Solihull

The final Land Rover Defender will roll off the production line today at the JLR plant in Solihull.

In 67 years, more than 2,000,000 Defenders were built.

The final 15 will be completed this morning at an event to mark the end of production.

Once the last of the 4x4s has been made in the special Defender Manufacturing building – employees that worked on the off-roader will hold a celebration for the famous vehicle and its history.

Military forces across the world have used the Defender for many years.

The Queen has been known to drive them – and Defenders have made appearances in many films.

In December, the two millionth Land Rover Defender sold at auction for £400,000, highlighting the value the famous model holds with people worldwide.
