New Solihull Waitrose store opens

The new Waitrose store on Homer Road in Solihull town centre opened its doors on Thursday 23rd June.

Along with Julian Knight MP and the branch manager Ben Service, two local children – six-year-old Jack from St Alphege Infant and Nursery School and eight-year-old Megan from St Augustine’s Primary School, who had won a competition to design a poster for the store’s new coffee shop – were involved in the ribbon cutting.

Waitrose Solihull has created 100 jobs and includes a bakery; fresh meat and fish counters; a beers, wines and spirits department; dry cleaning and laundry services and a café bar with indoor and outing seating.

The store also features a sushi counter, manned by a skilled sushi chef, preparing fresh products in front of customers throughout the day.
