Police appeal for witnesses after stabbing in Chelmsley Wood

Solihull Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in Chelmsley Wood this morning (11th April).

Officers were called to Lime Grove just after 11.10am to reports that a 28-year-old man had suffered several stab wounds to the back.

The man was rushed to hospital by paramedics and he remains there this afternoon in a critical condition.

Detectives have launched an investigation to find the person responsible and at this stage believe a group of between three and five people may have been involved.

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from Force CID, said: “This happened in the middle of a street in broad daylight and we think there would have been a number of people in the area at the time.

“If you saw anything and have not yet come forward, please call us as soon as possible. Your information could be vital in bringing the offenders to justice.”
