Police investigate Solihull machete attack as injured man seeks help

Police are investigating a suspected machete attack on a man after he walked into a housing office in Solihull seeking help.

The man, in his 60s, entered Kingshurst Area Housing Office in Church Close at around 2.45pm this afternoon, with an injury to his arm.

Paramedics were called and he was taken to hospital with a “non life threatening injury.”

The housing office has been closed and part of the area cordoned off by police.

It is believed staff helped to bandage the injured man’s arm as they waited for paramedics to arrive.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: “A man has been taken to hospital with a non-life threatening arm injury after walking into Kingshurst Area Housing Office claiming to have been attacked with a machete in his home.

“Police enquiries are ongoing.”

A West Midlands Ambulance spokeswoman added: “A man, in his 60s, was taken to hospital after becoming injured in an assault.”
