Schoolboy taken to hospital after stabbing at NEC

A schoolboy has been taken to hospital after a reported stabbing at the National Exhibition Centre in Bickenhill.

Police were called at around 12.20pm today (19th October) following reports of disorder at the venue.

The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to hospital while two people have been arrested following the attack.

It’s understood the incident happened in Hall 4, where the 2016 UK Construction Week event is currently being held.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “On arrival officers found a 16-year-old schoolboy with a single stab wound to the leg.

“He has been taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered to be life-threatening.

“Two people have been arrested and are currently in custody.”
