Solihull gyms benefit from £1million cash boost

Gym-goers in Solihull are now benefitting from a £1million boost thanks to the investment of a new sports and leisure operator.
The fitness suites at North Solihull Sports Centre and Tudor Grange Leisure Centre have been transformed following a cash injection from Everyone Active.

It is the most significant investment to be made by the sports and leisure provider since it took on the management of the centres in June.

North Solihull Sports Centre unveiled its new-look gym on Saturday 21st July, with Tudor Grange following suit a week later on the 28th.

Both facilities have benefitted from state-of-the-art gym kit including specialist equipment for people with disabilities.

Additional apparatus has been installed and more space has been dedicated to functional training, giving visitors the option of a more varied workout. The new equipment can link with fitness apps to provide users with a complete record of their training and exercise programmes.

Everyone Active manages the centres on behalf of Solihull Council.

On Thursday 8th August, Cllr Joe Tildesley, Solihull Council’s cabinet member for leisure, tourism and sport, visited North Solihull Sports Centre to see the facilities for himself.

Cllr Joe Tildesley said: “Everyone Active has invested in some fantastic new equipment to help motivate everyone to keep active.

“I was particularly impressed with the new kit for people with disabilities and the increase specialist classes for people with long term health problems.

“It was really encouraging to see so many people at the gym using the equipment and improving their fitness levels.”

Wayne Desmond, contract manager at Everyone Active, added: “I am delighted with the finished results of these refurbishments. It’s essential that our facilities continue to meet the needs of our customers, and this can only be achieved through investment and improvement.

“We want to help more people lead a healthy, active lifestyle. I really hope that these upgrades encourage more people to come down and make use of the new equipment, as well as the other fantastic activities we offer across the two centres.”
