Solihull man jailed after snatching womens’ handbags

A Solihull man who robbed three women on the same road within a week to fund his drug habit has been jailed for four-and-a-half years.

Rory O’Gorman, of no fixed address, snatched the handbags of a 77-year-old and two women in their 60s between 4 − 10 July on Stratford Road in Shirley for cash to buy crack cocaine.

All three women suffered minor injuries as O’Gorman wrenched their bags from them, but thankfully they have made full recoveries.

The 22-year-old was identified from a social media post and admitted the offences at Birmingham Crown Court last Friday.
