Three men arrested on suspicion of murder over Kingshurst stabbing

Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Kingshurst have arrested three men on suspicion of murder.

Two men aged 20 and an 18-year-old man was arrested in East Birmingham yesterday.

A 21-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Local man Callum Lees, was stabbed in the neck following a dispute at a property in Hopwas Grove.

The 20-year-old was found by a passer-by on Sunday morning collapsed in Haselour Road and pronounced dead later in hospital.

Callum’s family have described him as “a beautiful, caring, kind soul who was much loved”.

A statement released on behalf of the family added: “Everyone who knew him only had good words to say.

“Our world has been shattered and will never be the same again. We love you Callum.”

Detective Inspector Jim Munro from Force CID, said: “We’ve made quick progress in this investigation and three suspects are now in police custody for questioning over the murder.

“This is a significant development but we are still appealing to anyone with information who has not yet spoken to us to call my team on 101 or via the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
