Tributes left for man who died after collision at JLR

A man who died in a tragic accident at Solihull’s Jaguar Land Rover plant has been named locally as 23-year-old Kieren Rowe from Tamworth.

The father of a three-year-old girl, died on Monday afternoon (26th Sepember) after a collision with a manufacturing tractor unit and trailer on a private road within the JLR factory site.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them urgently following the incident at around 4.40pm.

The mother of his daughter, Stacey Gilbert, said on Facebook: “Today my little girl lost her daddy.

“He was the best person I could have asked for as a dad.

“We grew up together and he was my best friend…”

The Birmingham City University Criminology student, added: “He was a pain in the arse but one of the most caring people I’d ever met.

“His life will live on in her. Kieren Rowe. Love you always and I will look after your baby.”

Kieren was pronounced dead at the scene after an ambulance and Midlands Air Ambulance were despatched.

A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive said it was ‘aware of the incident’ and assisting the police with their investigation.
