Mother fined for child’s unauthorised absence from a Solihull school

A mother whose daughter attends Lyndon School in Solihull has been fined for failing to ensure her attendance.

The woman was found guilty at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Wednesday 15th April – despite failing to attend the hearing.

She was fined a total of £400, as well as £312 in costs and £40 victim surcharge, on charges relating to a total of 32 unauthorised absences taken by her 15-year-old daughter between 3rd September 2014 and 14th January 2015.
