Carjacking outside Aldi as two men surround woman and flee with Audi in Sheldon

A woman motorist was carjacked as she carried her shopping in the car park of a Sheldon supermarket.

She was surrounded by two men outside Aldi on Coventry Road before her Audi Q2 was stolen.

Two men in hoodies surrounded the woman as she left the store and walked to her car – causing her to drop her keys.

She ran off and they picked up her keys and drove off in her car.

The woman was uninjured, but left shocked.

The terrifying incident happened at around 6.15pm yesterday (02/10).

A man who knows the woman said the vehicle is a white Audi Q2 with a 67 registration plate.

He said: “Two men wearing hoodies approached her in the car park.

“They waited as she came out with her shopping, then grabbed her keys from behind.

“Both had hoods up, so hard to see.

“I’ve been told she’s ok, but is shaken-up.”

Another motorist who was at the scene captured the robbery on their dash cam and has handed the footage to the police.

Shoppers have also reported seeing two men standing on the edge of the park shortly before the robbery took place, wearing tracksuits and “looking really dodgy”.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Police are investigating a carjacking that took place in the Aldi car park in Coventry Road, Sheldon, just before 6.15pm last night (Tuesday 2 October).

“It is believed two men surrounded a woman as she approached her Audi, causing her to drop her keys and run away. They then picked up her keys and drove off in her car.
