Cars seized after series of hair salon break-ins across Solihull

Police investigating a series of hair salon break-ins across Solihull have seized three cars thought to be involved.

The cars are being forensically examined after being found abandoned.

Several salons have been targeted across Knowle, Dorridge and Sutton Coldfield since the beginning of August – with all being accessed via the front door or window, which were smashed with a brick or concrete block.

Thousands of pounds worth of hair appliances, including GHDs and other stock have been stolen, now detectives are asking for people to be on the lookout for any items being sold cheaply.

Chief Inspector Colin Barnes, from Solihull neighbourhood taskforce, said: “We do believe that these burglaries are linked and we are following up several lines of enquiry to identify the offenders.

“Meanwhile we have stepped up patrols to provide reassurance to the business community and I would urge anyone with information which could assist the investigation to contact us on 101.”

Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
