Two men arrested after JLR break-in

Police and security staff teamed up to arrest two men who broke into Solihull’s Jaguar Land Rover plant in the early hours of this morning (12/02).

Officers were called to the Lode Lane site a few minutes after midnight when security guards reported intruders had breached a perimeter fence.

One man was arrested in possession of stolen car keys while another was dragged from behind the wheel of a Land Rover as he tried driving away.

A 25-year-old man from Bordesley Green has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, assault and car theft, while a 21-year-old man from Solihull is in police custody on suspicion of burglary and theft.

Solihull Police Inspector Paul Foster, said: “One of the men managed to get inside a white Land Rover but his intended escape route was quickly cut off by police officers and security staff.

“He reversed into a skip and was blocked in before officers pulled him from the vehicle and made an arrest. It was a good team effort.”
