Nine people have lucky escape after seven vehicle collision on M42

Nine people had a very lucky escape after a huge crash involving seven vehicles on a busy stretch of the M42.
Six cars and a van collided on the northbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 5 near Solihull shortly after 2pm on Thursday (31st August).
Two fire engines were sent to the scene along with an ambulance and a paramedic officer.
But despite the scale of the accident, fortunately there were no serious injuries reported.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a six car RTC on the M42 between junctions 4 and 5.
“There were nine people in the vehicles. One patient was walking wounded.”
