Police appeal after boy viciously beaten and robbed in park

Police have launched a probe into reports a teenager was asked for the time before being savagely beaten in Solihull.

The victim, aged just 15, was robbed of his mobile phone and bus pass.

He was walking near the tunnel by the pond in Tudor Grange Park around 4.15pm on Monday (9th October).

He was approached by three other youths.

West Midlands Police said the trio asked the teenager for the time before reportedly demanding his mobile phone.

The victim was then allegedly kicked and punched during the robbery.

Police said they have conducted reassurance patrols in the park following the attack.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: “The attackers are described as Asian, aged between 17 – 18 years of age and all had Birmingham accents.

“One was between 5’5” and 5’6” tall and was skinny with short black hair and a moustache.

“He was wearing a black or dark grey Armani tracksuit and black woolly gloves. The other two were slightly taller, both of skinny build and wearing tracksuits.”

The victim suffered bruising in the attack and police have issued a warning for parents and children to be on their guard.

St Alphege Police tweeted on Wednesday: “Officers from the team have been out this morning around Tudor Grange Park & schools to reassure residents & students alike.

“PCSO TABB has been out on his bike this morning, in & around our Solihull parks patrolling.

“PCSO Tabb & I have been paying particular attention to our schools @AlderbrookSch & @TGASolihull whilst we’ve been out this morning…

“So hopefully the staff & students alike will have seen us and will know we’re looking out for them.”
