Delivery van full of parcels targeted in Solihull carjacking

A delivery van full of parcels was targeted in a carjacking in Solihull.

The employee was on his rounds in Dorridge last Wednesday (25th October) when the attackers struck, making off with his van filled with goods.

Two men surprised the driver in Dorridge Road, with one grabbing the parcel the victim was about to deliver along with the keys to his white Vauxhall van.

A second man then jumped into the passenger side and the pair drove off at speed towards the centre of Dorridge.

West Midlands Police say they were called by local residents at 4.30pm following the theft.

A spokesperson said: “The vehicle was later involved in a collision on Kenilworth Road at the junction of Temple Balsall.

“The offenders had jumped a traffic light and then made off into a forest.

“Officers believe a second vehicle was involved in the carjacking.

“It’s possible that when the vehicle was taken, there was a silver Volvo seen in the area” the spokesperson added.

“It was also seen to follow the van when it was in a collision in Kenilworth Road.”

One of the men is described as in his early 20’s, white, clean-shaven and wearing a black top and a woolly hat.

There is no description for the second man.
