Acorns Antiques! Charity unveils Becketts Farm furniture shop

Acorns Children’s Hospice has unveiled its very first furniture shop at Becketts Farm in Wythall.

Alan Beckett, Becketts Farm Chairman joined Acorns Chief Executive, Toby Porter in a ribbon cutting ceremony, officially opening the shop to customers.

Cherry Bromhead, Retail Area Manager at Acorns, encouraged bargain hunters to pay the new store a visit: “We’re delighted to launch the shop and showcase the range of quality, pre-loved furniture and homeware items that have already been kindly donated to us by the public.

“All sales will go directly towards the children and families we care for, so not only can you get your hands on some quality décor, but you’ll be helping a great cause too.”

Acorns has over 50 shops on high streets across the West Midlands, raising money towards the £10 million per year the charity needs to continue proving care for life-limited and life-threatened children, and support for their families.

Simon Beckett, Managing Director at Becketts Farm, who joined his father Alan to open the shop, said: “Acorns do great things within the local area and have been our neighbours for a long time, with their offices just a stone’s throw away from our award-winning Farm Shop.

“Our partnership goes back many years and we are delighted that they are now joining us on site with their first retail furniture shop. We hope it is a great success.”

In the last year Acorns has cared for over 840 children and more than 1,060 families, including those who are bereaved.
