Breast Cancer Haven – West Midlands is coming to Solihull

Breast Cancer Haven – West Midlands is due to open in October 2017 with progress going well on the Solihull premises in St Bernard’s Road.

12,500 breast cancer patients are currently living within 35 miles of the new centre and with 1 in 8 women facing breast cancer diagnosis in the UK there is overwhelming medical endorsement for the new centre.

The purchase, refurbishment and redevelopment of the building is fully funded, thanks to a generous government grant of £2.5 million – but this is only the start.

Breast Cancer Haven now needs to raise in excess of £600,000 annually to ensure the centre is able to deliver and sustain its services.

Breast Cancer Haven – West Midlands will provide free emotional, physical and practical support to people affected by breast cancer in the West Midlands.

Their specialist counsellors and therapists will be providing a tailored program to each visitor to help with many aspects of breast cancer, services will include counselling, nutritional therapy, mindfulness and physical therapies such as acupuncture.

Not only this, Breast Cancer Haven also provides a library of information on site, self-help films on their website and support over the phone.

It is expected that 750 visitors will access the service in the first year alone so they need plenty of support to raise the required £600,000 each year to keep their services free.
