Improvement works complete at Robin Hood Cemetery and Crematorium

Robin Hood Cemetery and Crematorium will be fully reopened to the public next week following a period of closure to carry out improvement works.

The site, which recently celebrated its 100-year anniversary, has had three new cremators installed and the chapel has been refurbished and redecorated.

In addition, the welfare and operational room facilities, ash processing room and heating and ventilation systems have all been updated.

Councillor Tony Dicicco, Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities & Partnerships, said: “This has been a significant piece of work for the Council as the cemetery and crematorium are highly used services by people living within Solihull and those from further afield.

“We’ve worked hard to make sure people have been able to continue visiting gravesides and memorials throughout the works, and I’d like to thank residents for their patience and understanding during this time.

“The new cremators will allow us to ensure we continue to meet the needs and requirements of our local community for many years to come.”
