Man arrested in Solihull on suspicion of firearms offences

A Birmingham man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences after suspicious items were found at an address in Garretts Green Lane just before 1pm yesterday (4th November).

The 29-year-old from Sheldon was arrested yesterday afternoon in a vehicle on Solihull Bypass and remains in police custody.

A cordon was placed around the property and several homes were evacuated as a precaution.

The EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) team attended and following a forensic search of the property several items were seized. The cordon was scaled back to the house around 6pm and residents were allowed back to their homes.
