Man left with serious injuries following attack in Solihull

A man is fighting for his life after he was assaulted on Hobs Moat Road in Solihull.

The 56-year-old victim was attacked near the Wheatsheaf pub around 7pm on Friday.

A blue and white police tent has been erected and forensics officers were at the scene today.

Police are appealing for witnesses and are trawling through CCTV for evidence.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: “Police are investigating an assault on a 56-year-old man on Hobs Moat Road, Solihull which was reported just after 7pm last night (23 March).

“The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

“Officers are trawling through CCTV and carrying our reassurance patrols in the area.

“Enquiries remain on-going and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting log 2155 23/3.”
