New look Saracens Head pledges support for Birmingham Children’s Hospital charity

The new Saracen’s Head Sizzling Pub & Grill on Stratford Road in Shirley is hoping to raise £1,000 for charity to mark its grand reopening.

To commemorate its relaunch, the pub hosted activities and events from Thursday 23rd to Sunday 26th February, as they looked to raise funds in aid of the Premature Baby Unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Including raffles, prize draws and pool tournaments with prizes available to all those who took part, the Saracens Head also held a disco and ABBA tribute band on Friday and Saturday night respectively, accepting donations from people who attended.

Speaking of the pub’s charity efforts Saracens Head general manager, Lee Shrimpton, said; “We’re overwhelmed with the amount of support we’ve received in helping raise money for the Premature Baby Unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

“The staff’s enthusiasm and willingness to get involved and help this cause has been brilliant, we’re just so happy to be giving back to be giving back to something so important.”

The refurbished Saracens Head Sizzling Pub & Grill opened to guests on Thursday 23rd February, following an extensive three-week refurbishment. After a significant investment was made, 11 new jobs have been created for the local area.

The pub now sports a brand new look and feel so guests can enjoy the Saracens Head’s expansive menu in comfortable surroundings, starting with a breakfast menu that offers unlimited tea and filter coffee for just £1. The pub will continue to sell its celebrated sizzling skillets with 21-day aged prime steaks, which can now be topped with one of six tasty steak toppers.

General manager, Lee Shrimpton, added: “Bringing the new Sizzling Pub & Grill to Solihull is really exciting for the whole team.

“At Sizzling Pub & Grill, we want to offer good value for all our guests and we’re thrilled to be providing Solihull with a new pub that does that, with great tasting food.

“The pub has been given a fantastic new look showcasing some great products, especially with its exciting menu which lets guests experience pub favourites from the UK and around the world.

“We’re so thrilled to be able to give back to our loyal regulars, providing them with a fantastic pub where they can always enjoy a warm welcome and great atmosphere.”

Following the refurbishment, the Saracens Head says it will continue to support the local community with a calendar of fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
