Police appeal for witnesses after man dies following Solihull collision

Solihull Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a driver who was involved in a collision in September 2016, died at the beginning of this month.

Gerald Goddard, aged 58, from Solihull, passed away in hospital on 4th January.

The collision between Mr Goddard’s black Kia Venga and a black Ford Mondeo took place on Saturday 17th September on Solihull Bypass, near to the junction with Lode Lane and Severn Star Road at around 10.30am.

The driver of the Ford Mondeo remained at the scene at the time and is continuing to help officers with their enquiries.

DC Claire Byrne from the Regional Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Goddard at this tragic time.

“We are trying to find out exactly what happened that day and we want anyone who saw anything to contact us on 101 as soon as possible.”
