Police find woman dead in Solihull house

A woman has been found dead at a house in Richmond Road, Solihull.

Her body was found at around 1pm on Monday.

West Midlands Police initially said her death was being treated as suspicious, but later revised its statement to say the death was being treated as unexplained.

The property was sealed off and police and ambulance crews were at the scene.

A member of staff at the nearby Happy Heart Cafe in Olton said customers had been discussing the incident for ‘a couple of hours’.

“He said: “My customers said there have been armed police, paramedics and ambulances.

“There isn’t a police tent but the house is sealed off with tape.”

In the revised statement, WMP said: “Police were called after the body of a woman in her 40s was found at an address in Richmond Road, Olton at around 1pm today (Monday 24 September).

“The woman’s death is no longer being treated as suspicious but remains unexplained.

“Detectives are investigating the circumstances of the woman’s death and forensic experts are currently examining the scene.”
