Solihull Air Cadets complete expedition section of Duke of Edinburgh Award

This weekend Solihull Air Cadets travelled to the Derbyshire Peaks to complete the expedition section of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.

17 local cadets completed either their Bronze (2 day) or Silver (3 day) expedition, carrying with them everything they needed to be self sufficient, from tents to food.

The cadets were remotely check pointed by several adult volunteer staff from Solihull Air Cadets.

All cadets who attended have previously completed many hours of expedition training from the highly qualified adventure training adult staff at the air cadet unit.

Flight Lieutenant Gilbert said: “All the cadets did brilliantly, putting all their training into practise, whilst having to overcome some very wet weather at the start.

“I’m very proud of them all.

“This camp comes towards the end of a busy year for Solihull Air Cadets after they have already completed three adventure training camps and having won several Warwickshire and Birmingham area sporting events outright”
