Solihull Council award Everyone Active a 10-year contract to manage leisure centres

Everyone Active, the trading name for Sports & Leisure Management Ltd (SLM), has been awarded a 10-year contract by Solihull Council to deliver its leisure services.

The partnership will see Everyone Active managing North Solihull Sports Centre and Tudor Grange Leisure Centre from 1st June 2018.

A spokesperson for SMBC said: “Everyone Active brings 30 years of expertise and will invest £1 million in the first year of the partnership.

“They will support the Council’s vision of delivering high quality leisure facilities and will work closely together to enhance the existing leisure facilities and improve the customer experience.”

The overall aim of the partnership is to ensure that the facilities offer a flexible and innovative approach and encourage more people to take part in physical activity more often.

Councillor Robert Hulland, Solihull Council’s Cabinet Member for Resources and Delivering Value, said: “The recent termination of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) contract gave us the opportunity to enhance our leisure services and develop plans for future investment in the service.

“Following an extensive procurement process, I am delighted to welcome Everyone Active aboard.

“Not only has this saved the Council around £1.4 million per annum, but Everyone Active is committed to investing £1 million in their first year with us so we are saving money and increasing our leisure offer to residents.”

“We are delighted to have been chosen by the Council to use our extensive skills and experience to get more people active,” says David Bibby, Managing Director of Everyone Active.

“Both centres have fantastic facilities and we hope to continue to build upon their success to fulfil the Council’s vision.

“We have extensive experience of managing community facilities across the country, including in a number of neighbouring districts, and look forward to bringing the same high-standard services to Solihull.”

As part of the contract, all existing staff at the centres will be kept on by Everyone Active.
