Solihull Mayor visits new Breast Cancer Haven

On Wednesday 25th October, the Mayor and Mayoress of Solihull attended the official opening of the new Breast Cancer Haven, West Midlands, based in Solihull.

Located on St Bernard’s Road in Olton, the centre offers emotional, physical and practical support to anyone affected by breast cancer in the West Midlands region.

The Mayor and Mayoress were given a tour of the new building which has undergone a complete renovation from its former use as a B&B.

They also met the new team of staff who will be working in the centre.

The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Stuart Davis, said: “I was delighted to be given the opportunity to visit the new Breast Cancer Haven and see the fantastic facilities and services they provide.

“Sadly, most of us have been affected by cancer in some way so it’s vital that we have support around us to help cope during these difficult times.

“This new centre will be able to offer people support in so many ways and we are very lucky to have such a wonderful facility on our doorstep.”

Breast Cancer Haven has trained professional nurses, therapists, counsellors and advisers who can offer advice on practical things like money and work, help combatting stress, exhaustion and nausea, and healthy eating and exercise.
