Solihull’s newest bar and restaurant The Beech House set to open in August

Alterations and major works are now nearing completion on Solihull’s newest bar and restaurant – The Beech House on Warwick Road is set to open its doors on Friday 12th August.

Run by Oakman Inns & Restaurants, who already have fifteen award-winning pubs, restaurants and coaching Inns in their collection.

With a brand new look and a Mediterranean-inspired menu, the new front bar serving fresh coffee, cocktails, local beer and a comprehensive wine list, will extend into a beautifully landscaped City Garden designed by RHS Gold Medal winning garden designer, Kate Gould. Perfect for those who want a break from the hurly burly of shopping or to relax after work with friends over a cocktail or a light meal, the new garden will incorporate an al fresco bar and a pretty outside dining area.

General Manager, Dan Dawson, whose family live in Solihull, said: “I can’t wait to open our doors – there are so many brilliant additions and changes.

“Inside, in our redesigned restaurant, all our dishes will be cooked and served from the open plan theatre-style kitchen, which houses the unique Josper charcoal oven for which our company has become famous and a large hand-built, wood-fired pizza oven traditionally constructed from Italian clay.

“Whether our guests order the fresh fish of the day or our properly aged, grass-fed steaks; or prefer a huge sharing platter with their friends or family, they will be able to see every dish beeing cooked to order by the our brigade of chefs under the watchful eye of Head Chef, Adam Czyz.”

There will also be a new range of freshly prepared and traditionally cooked Pizzas available as well as menus for children and plenty of delicious and healthy options for those with special dietary needs.

Dan continues: “On the upper level outside, which previous owners had neglected for years, we’ve created a new function space for all kinds of celebrations for up to 120 guests with a stunning double tepee and a bar made from a shipping container.”

Dan will be heading up his new 60-strong team who have been attending training and team building days at Oakman Inns’ sister pubs across the Home Counties.

A spokesperson for Oakman Inns said: “Oakman Inns’ many successes and awards to date have been largely due to its motivated, enthusiastic team, supported by an industry-leading training and employment policy designed to encourage career development and advancement.

“Oakman is particularly proud of being ranked for the last two years in the Top 50 of The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For list.

“In keeping with Oakman Inns’ sustainability policy which has seen each of their pubs achieve the highest possible 3 Star rating from The Sustainable Restaurant Association (The SRA), the redevelopment of The Beech House has been carried out employing sustainable design and construction methods.

“Oakman has also won many accolades for its work in the communities in which their pubs operate and The Beech House is already in talks with a number of youth and environmental groups with regard to future support. The company already supports The Woodland Trust with a donation from each dish of Slow-Roasted Pork Belly they sell.”

The first large event The Beech House will be supporting is The Solihull Summer Fest at Tudor Grange Park over August Bank Holiday (27th & 28th August).
