Work begins on new retirement village in Balsall Common

Work has begun on a new retirement village set in countryside at Balsall Common.

Exclusively for the 55+ homeowner, Albany Meadows will consist of 39 contemporary homes featuring a mix of two-bedroom bungalows, three-bed houses and two-bed apartments, all with access to landscaped green spaces, car parking and a range of amenities and services.

Lifestyle will be at the heart of Albany Meadows, promoting health and wellbeing to ensure residents’ continue to enjoy life independently in their new home.

Homes are set around a peaceful landscape offering countryside views and a village manager and estates team will take care of all the outdoor spaces, landscaping and communal areas.

It will also offer a range of services from regular activities and exercise programmes to care services which can be used with complete flexibility to work best for each homeowner’s lifestyle now and in the future.

Albany Meadows is being delivered and managed by Amber Infrastructure, a leading international provider of long-term social, infrastructure and property projects.

Project director Mike Leto said: “We are delighted to see construction underway on our latest project.

“Albany Meadows will provide contemporary, well specified homes, but more than that residents can relax and enjoy life in a safe, peaceful and attractive village environment.

“The Albany Lounge, activity spaces and central Village Green will become community spaces that will be the social hub of Albany Meadows village life, alongside additional services and flexible care provision to support long term independent living and create an enviable retirement lifestyle.”

The development is located off Kenilworth Road, adjacent to the existing Barchester care home, Harper Fields, and Seddon Construction are the main contractors on site.

First occupations are anticipated in autumn 2018.

To ensure local property demands are met first, the opportunity to purchase a property at Albany Meadows will initially be made available exclusively to people living in, or connected to, the Solihull Borough area.
